Safety
Armstrong leadership and team members work together to deliver excellence in safety.
We work to continuously improve the safety of our facilities, our equipment and our operations to minimize risk for our clients, our team members and our crews.
Armstrong considers safety to be the cornerstone for its expression of care for all employees, customers and communities.
Armstrong shows its commitment to safety through a multi-layered approach on a regional and national level. Our Risk Management Department employs an enterprise Safety Director who works closely with each agency on compliance, training and general awareness of policy change. Each Armstrong agency has an Agency Safety Representative (ASR) who reports to his/her agency President and is the point of contact for the Safety Director. Our ASRs go through a certification process which includes:
- Safety from the Top Down training
- Hours of Service, Vehicle Maintenance and CSA BASICs training
- Full Regulatory and Policy Compliance training
- Trends Analysis training
- Monitoring Safety Performance training
As a final step, the ASR must complete a Safety Action Plan for his/her agency. With the Safety Action Plan, ASRs keep track of our continuous safety improvements through performance metrics created by the Department of Transportation and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, as well as our own procedures and policies.
Our drug-free workplace, compliance with the provisions of OSHA Safety and Health Standards, a published Health and Safety policy, and compliance with ISO 9001 standards have led us to be recognized with United Van Line’s Impact Award for claims minimization and Fleet Safety Award for overall risk management performance.
We are proud to be in an industry leader in workplace and roadway safety.
Our Customers' Experience
The move was the best we have ever had in 37 moves during military service and afterwards.C.O.
My overall experience was great. Chris, Barbara were very courteous and professional throughout the entire process. And on delivery day, the guys were absolutely professional…a very happy and satisfied customer!R.K.
Our driver was personable, friendly and thorough. The packing crews both in TX and NC were great, also friendly and very hard working, considering the heat, especially in Texas.N.N.
Josh Puckett and Anthony cannot be overrated. They are top notch and best we’ve had in 7 moves. Mr. Puckett’s crews were very good—careful and respectful of us and our belongings.W.F.
…We needed a company who could provide moving services AND modular furniture systems move/modifications/install. Armstrong was able to provide all this at a competitive price. It also made a big difference that the furniture installer spent time in advance figuring out a plan for the furniture move/layout!K.K.
Great job by everyone on the Armstrong team not only with the move, but also with helping assemble furniture to get us on our feet quickly!S.B.
